Optical approach of a hypercatadioptric system depth of field

    Get PDF
A catadioptric system is composed of a mirror and a perspective camera. Since the mirror is curved and the distance between the mirror and the camera is short, some parts of the panoramic image keep blurred. In this article, an optical approach of the panoramic system using a hyperbolic mirror is presented and its depth of field is analyzed. The impact of different parameters of mirror and camera on the quality of the panoramic image is researched and a valid method of choosing camera and mirror is presented. Finally, this article gives some possible perspectives based on these researches

Rosy Mercury - 5 Tracks EP About “Space Romance”

“Rosy Mercury” is a 5 track EP produced and vocal performed by Zhang Siyuan, featuring instrumentalists at Berklee Valencia. This EP is inspired by artists like Moses Sumney, Daniel Caesar and JMSN. During the process of production, Zhang Siyuan used his new skills such as analog synthesis, sound design and different recording techniques. He also conquered challenges of vocal recording and working in two DAWs for the same session. Finally, this EP is completed and he plans to release it in August 2019.https://remix.berklee.edu/graduate-studies-production-technology/1185/thumbnail.jp

Tailoring Accelerating Beams in Phase Space

    Get PDF
An appropriate design of wavefront will enable light fields propagating along arbitrary trajectories thus forming accelerating beams in free space. Previous ways of designing such accelerating beams mainly rely on caustic methods, which start from diffraction integrals and only deal with two-dimensional fields. Here we introduce a new perspective to construct accelerating beams in phase space by designing the corresponding Wigner distribution function (WDF). We find such a WDF-based method is capable of providing both the initial field distribution and the angular spectrum in need by projecting the WDF into the real space and the Fourier space respectively. Moreover, this approach applies to the construction of both two- and three-dimensional fields, greatly generalizing previous caustic methods. It may therefore open up a new route to construct highly-tailored accelerating beams and facilitate applications ranging from particle manipulation and trapping to optical routing as well as material processing.Comment: 8 pages, 6 figure

A Caustic Approach of Panoramic Image Analysis

    Get PDF
In this Conference, the problem of blur in a panoramic image from a catadioptric camera is analyzed through the determination of the virtual image. This determination is done first with an approximative method, and second through the caustic approach. This leads us to a general caustic approach of panoramic image analysis, where equations of virtual images are given. Finally, we give some direct applications of our analysis, such as depth of field (blur) or image resolution
